Leicestershire Road Safety and Travel Awareness Team can provide an advanced Level 3 Bikeability cycle course for secondary school students who wish to cycle to school.

The course costs just £20.00 per student per session and each session is approximately 2 hours and a base line assesment will take place first. Please note that all students wishing to take part in this course must have a roadworthy bike.

About the Course

Level 3 cycling is a progression from Level 2 which is undertaken in primary school (although Level 2 can also be offered in secondary school if youngsters have missed it when in primary school).
Level 3  includes:

-1 session of 2 hours
-1 trainer per 2 cyclists
-All cyclists are provided with high vis jackets and are advised to wear a helmet
-Aimed at years 7,8 and 9

The aims of the course:

-To encourage safer cycling
-To develop positive attitudes to cycling
-Increase knowledge and further awareness of traffic on busier roads
-Using more advanced traffic conditions ie roundabouts, traffic lights, multi lanes
